How do I license SPIRIT ?
SPIRIT is licensed with the SOFTTECH License Manager using a so-called license key.
- The license key is a character string that you will receive from us by e-mail.
- Copy the license key from this email to the clipboard.
- Now start SPIRIT. The licensing dialog will appear.
- Click on the "Activate your purchased license" button.
- The license key has already been entered in the licensing dialog.
- Enter the personal e-mail address of the user who has just started SPIRIT and click through the wizard using the buttons in the bottom right-hand corner.
For floating licenses (network licenses): Repeat steps 2 - 6 for each user who will be working with SPIRIT.
I have not received a license key!
You will usually receive your license key by e-mail.
If you have not yet received a corresponding e-mail with the sender SOFTTECH GmbH License, please check your spam folder or ask your IT administrator.
My license key is not recognized!
The license key has the format XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.
Check that you have copied all the characters.
My license key is invalid!
If a message is displayed stating that your license key is invalid, please contact the licensing department: lizenz@softtech.de.
The license key is already assigned!
With a network license, the license key can be activated on different clients for different users.
A separate e-mail address must be entered for each client or user.
If an e-mail address has already been used, the corresponding message is displayed:

The number of permitted users has been exceeded!
It may happen that after opening SPIRIT a message is displayed that the number of permitted users has been exceeded.
This is due to the fact that each license can only be used by a certain number of users at the same time.
To be able to use SPIRIT, it must be closed on another workstation.

How can I obtain a training license?
Students and trainees in the department have the option of receiving a temporary and unrestricted version of the program on presentation of proof.
For this we require a valid certificate of training or unemployment. At the end of the limited period, a new certificate must be submitted and the period will be extended.
A student version can be requested with the above information via:

My license has expired!
Some licenses have a specific term.
If the end of the term is reached, a corresponding message is displayed.
The program is started in demo mode and the following dialog is displayed.
Click Request license and fill out the form to extend the license or request a new license.

An earlier test phase has already expired!
The 14-day test license can only be used once.
If the trial period has already expired, a corresponding message will be displayed.

You can continue to use SPIRIT in demo mode if necessary.
I use a dongle (USB copy protection plug), what do I have to do?
If you have been using an A-, B-, E-dongle or a Dongle-1 and you are a maintenance customer, we have already migrated your license automatically, i.e. the license will be updated to the current version.
If you would like to work with the new SOFTTECH license key in the future, please contact our licensing team at info@softtech.de.
I am using a license with a hardware ID, what do I have to do?
If you are currently using a license with a hardware ID, your license will be migrated automatically, i.e. the license will be updated to the current version.
The new license key is transferred directly to the ST License Manager.
An active Internet connection is required in accordance with the system requirements.
I use the license server, what do I have to do?
If you use the license server, nothing changes compared to the last version, the previous conditions apply.

I would like to use SPIRIT in my home office, what do I have to do?
If you are using a floating license in the office, first install SPIRIT on your PC in the home office.
Activate SPIRIT on the PC in the home office with the same license key as from the office.
Can I continue to use SPIRIT if the Internet fails?
If the Internet connection fails, SPIRIT automatically switches to offline mode.
The status is displayed in the license information.
Working in offline mode is possible for a limited time.
If a proper connection cannot be established within the next few hours, please contact the licensing department lizenz@softtech.de or your system administrator.
